There are only 26 days left until the Pan Am flame makes it way to Toronto, Ontario where it will stay for 16 days (July 10 – July 26) during the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games. Before the flame makes its way to the Opening Ceremonies in the metropolitan city, it will complete its Canadian journey visiting a number of provinces and cities across the country including a visit to the Niagara Region. While in Niagara Falls, the flame will be carried aboard one of Hornblower Niagara Cruises’ famous 700-passenger catamarans into the very heart of the mighty Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

TRAVELLING THROUGH THE NIAGARA REGION

Before arriving at Hornblower Niagara Cruises the flame will visit the Welland Market Square for a community celebration before travelling to the Welland Pan Am Flatwater Centre, the canoe/kayak sprint venue for the Games. The relay will then continue on to St. Catharines for a day celebration occur at Lakeside Park. One of the last visits of Day 21 of the torch relay is in Niagara Falls at Hornblower Niagara Cruises. Here one of the 3,000 torchbearers will get to experience the thrill of the Falls aboard Hornblower’s Niagara Wonder or Niagara Thunder catamaran boat.

Hornblower Niagara Cruises will carry not only a torchbearer with torch but also a community cauldron to keep the flame alight while journeying into the mist of Niagara Falls. Local residents and tourists alike will be a part of history as they witness the extraordinary spectacle of the torch relay into the world’s most famous waterfall. Hornblower Niagara Cruises welcomes millions of visitors from around the world each year and looks forward to hosting athletes, spectators and media attending the Pan Am Games.

The flame will continue on to Queen Victoria Park where an evening celebration will wrap up the torch relay through the Niagara Region.
