5 Things in 2017 We Are Excited About

The winter weather is close to coming to an end and we are ramping up for our upcoming season. We’re training our new staff, welcoming back old team members, and getting ready to put our boats back into the water, it’s all so close! So, in preparation for our fourth season, we wanted to share 5 things we are excited for 2017.

70 Falls Fireworks Cruises

This season we are looking forward to offering 70 Falls Fireworks Cruises! Sailings are from May 19th till September 4th this season, including 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from June 12th to September 1st. Canada 150 Celebrations in Niagara Falls

As most Canadians and many international travellers already know 2017 marks Canada’s 150th birthday! There will be festivities all over the country, but nothing will compare to what Niagara Falls has planned. The official 150 In The Falls website will give you full details on the over 150 events and celebrations being held in the region this year. And no trip to the Falls is complete without a visit into the heart of the Horseshoe Falls with Hornblower Niagara Cruises.

Elevator Upgrades

Over the off season this past winter our teams have been working hard preparing for the coming year. One of the major advancements has been the complete modernization and retrofit of our existing elevators. With these upgrades we aim to have an increased capacity of 35%! Helping to decrease wait times and increase positive guest experiences. We are always making improvements to make our attraction better and we can’t wait to share this with our guests this season.

$4 Million Lighting Upgrade

For the past 20 years, 21 Xenon halogen bulbs have done a great job of projecting colourful lights onto the American Falls and Canadian Horseshoe Falls. But as of December 1, 2016 Niagara Falls can be seen in a whole new light! The $4-million upgrade replaced the old halogen technology with the latest in high efficiency LED technology and decreased energy use by approximately 59%. Giving twice the lighting power of the previous lighting system this season the Falls will be brighter than ever before! And our 2017 season will be the first time our guests aboard our Falls Illumination and Falls Fireworks Cruises will get to experience the lighting upgrade up close and personal.
