Travelling From Niagara-on-the-Lake,Ontario 

For the first time ever, commuters can jet set from Toronto to the Niagara Region in just 12-minutes. Flights depart from Toronto from the Billy Bishop Airport at 8:30am and arrives at the Niagara Greater Airport at 8:42 am. Departure flights from Niagara-on-the-Lake are at 4:30pm. 

 

Travelling From Toronto, Ontario

HIGHWAYS

If you are traveling from The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) by car, bus, or train there are many of ways of commuting to the Falls. The Queen Elizabeth (QEW) highway is one of the quickest and easiest ways to travel. The highway is often busy with daily commuters so be sure to provide plenty of time to avoid traffic. The highway takes commuters on a 1.5-hour drive from the Toronto Pearson International Airport and through the Greater Toronto Area. Another way to travel from the GTA is from Highway 407 that is an open access toll highway that stems 108 kilometers east-west just North of Toronto, Ontario. For commuters driving on Highway 407 they will often avoid traffic and will arrive at their destination in a shorter period of time. There is a fee for traveling on this road, so be prepared to receive a bill post travels.

TORONTO AIRPORTS

The Lester B. Pearson International Airport is Toronto’s only international airport that sits minutes from the highway and is surrounded by a number of accommodations and shopping.

MOTOR COACH BUS

For those traveling by motor coach bus there are a number of bus operators that offer daily transportation to Niagara Falls, Canada for a minimal fee. The Go Transit bus offers daily trips to Niagara Falls, Canada from Toronto, Ontario and may range between $20-$45/ per person. Traveling From Buffalo, New York

HIGHWAYS

Depending on the route you will be traveling there are a number of highways that bring visitors to Niagara Falls. The Interstate 1-90 connects from Buffalo, New York to the Canadian side of the border. The highway takes visitors through downtown Buffalo before crossing Grand Island and traveling the outskirts of Niagara Falls before crossing the Niagara River on the Queenston- Lewiston Bridge to Niagara Falls, Ontario. Once commuters cross the border they will discover the highway turns into Highway 405 that shortly turns into the Queen Elizabeth Highway (QEW) that takes visitors to the direction of Toronto, Ontario.

NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK AIRPORTS

There are two international airports, one located in Niagara Falls, New York and the other located in Buffalo, New York. The Niagara International Airport is located 20-minutes from Hornblower Niagara Cruises. Visitors may choose to travel through the Peace Bridge that connects from Buffalo, New York through Fort Erie, Ontario or through the Rainbow Bridge that connects from Niagara Falls, New York to Niagara Falls, Canada. 

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport is the second airport located 35-minutes from Hornblower Niagara Cruises. Due to its size, the airport sees more airlines than the Niagara International Airport, which offer more international flights. Visitors looking to commute to Niagara Falls, Canada from the airport may travel through the Peace Bridge that connects from Buffalo, New York through Fort Erie, Ontario or through the Rainbow Bridge that connects from Niagara Falls, New York to Niagara Falls, Canada.

MOTORCOACH BUSES

Unfortunately, there is not a train that connects directly to Niagara Falls, Canada. Taxis’ as well as the Niagara Airbus are available to continue your journey to the Canadian side of the border.

 

Traveling From United States to Canada

Hornblower Niagara Cruises is located on the Niagara Parkway that is 5-minutes from one of Canada’s International border crossings. The Rainbow Bridge that stands tall over the Niagara River connects Niagara Falls, Canada and Niagara Falls, New York. The fee to cross the Rainbow Bridge is $3.50 CAN and $3.00 U.S. The wait time to cross the border may vary depending on Canadian or U.S. holidays. Additional Canadian – U.S. border crossings include the Peace Bridge from Niagara Falls, U.S. to Fort Erie, Ontario as well as Queenston-Lewiston Bridge from Queenston, Ontario to Lewiston, New York. The Fee to cross the Peace Bridge is $3.75 CAD and $3.00 USD and the fee to cross the Queenston- Lewiston Bridge is $4.25 CAD and $3.50 US.Guests looking for short and easy commute to Niagara Falls, Canada are best to fly to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. The airport is approximately 20-minutes from the Peace Bridge or 30-minutes from the Rainbow Bridge.​
