Niagara in All Seasons
Spring (March 20 – June 20)
Light jackets, sweaters, rain jackets, rain boots, running shoes, hats and umbrellas are certainly musts when travelling in the Spring. Temperatures can vary from 5 – 19 C (41 – 66 F). With our attraction located in the heart of the Falls, the lake effect from the Niagara River can create cooler temperatures in March and April. Luckily when cruising in the Spring, our retractable glass walls offer a dry zone area with stunning views of the Falls while keeping guests dry and warm.
Summer (June 21 – September 21)
Having a comfortable pair of walking shoes is highly suggested. Shorts, t-shirts, hats, sun visors, sunglasses and light jackets for the evening are also encouraged as temperatures are generally 5 – 10 degrees cooler by the water. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
Autumn (September 22 – December 20)
Autumn is a popular time of the year to travel for both comfortable temperatures and lighter visitor traffic. The warmth of Summer continues well into early October, but is followed by cooler, crisp days beginning in October and November. Jackets, sweaters, comfortable walking shoes, hats, gloves/mittens, boots and rain boots are suggested for travelling between these months. Temperatures vary between 5 – 15C (41 – 59F).
Don’t Forget to Pack These Items for the Niagara Falls Tour!
If you are travelling with an infant in a stroller, it is required that the child remains in the stroller during the boat ride and the child is accompanied by an adult and not left unattended. Strollers are to remain on the lower deck of the boat. If you wish to leave your stroller on land before boarding, an Hornblower Employee will monitor strollers during your boat duration.
A Second Pair of Comfortable Shoes
When choosing your shoes for your visit keep the mighty power of the mist in mind, especially when up close and personal on our boats. If you are thinking about wearing your favourite shoes we suggest bringing a second pair to wear aboard the boat. If you don’t want to carry them during your adventures across the city, we suggest purchasing a pair of our water shoes from our Mist Gear Retail designed to embrace the powerful mist.
A backpack is a helpful accessory to pack when visiting Niagara Falls as it gives you room to store your souvenirs and personal belongings. At our Mist Gear Retail you will also find an assortment of fabric beach bags great for storing belongings.
