Seasonal Temperatures In Niagara Falls

Before planning your travels to Niagara Falls, Canada, visitors should know that it is a four-season destination where temperatures will vary depending on the time of the year visited.


Travelling in the Spring months (March-June) and Fall months (September – November) are suggested not just to avoid the lines and crowds, but also because of the friendly seasonal tmperatures. We suggest visitors travelling during these times to bring light jackets, sweaters and hats to keep warm as the temperatures vary between 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit) and 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit).


Visiting in the summer months between June and August is when the destination sees hundreds of thousands of international visitors. The warm summer sunshine brings in crowds who are looking to cool down and feel refreshed and mesmerized by the Falls. The high digit temperatures in the summer months can range between 28 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) and 32 Celsius (89 degrees Fahrenheit). Visitors interested in seeing Niagara Falls snow covered are best to travel during the months of December to March where temperatures will vary from -20 to 5 degrees Celsius (-4 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit). Due to the cold temperatures and massive ice boulders, Hornblower Niagara Cruises is unable to operate within these months. For visitors looking to explore the winter wonderland of a destination during these months won’t be disappointed by the stunning views of the world famous Falls.
